Data Migration Software Engineer
This is a permanent remote-work position for an experienced data migration software engineer. You will assist iDocket’s data migration and conversion team, moving customer’s confidential data from an old system to an iDocket software product. You will develop SQL scripts to analyze data, create data metrics, and integrate data using emerging technologies. Specifically, you will need to analyze the method of transforming existing data into a format for the customer’s new environment and the loading of this data into other database structures. You will be asked to review existing migration tools and provide recommendations for improving the performance of the migration process currently used. Throughout the data migration process, you will document the steps taken and develop repeatable processes that can be used for future data migrations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or comparable work experience.
- 3+ years’ experience as a data migration engineer or similar role.
- Experience with AWS Glue and ETL.
- Experience with Git.
- Experience with Atlassian products, such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience working with databases, such as MySQL and SQL Server.
- Ability to quickly learn data and relationships.
- Able to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Good communication skills, both with your internal iDocket team and with any external customers.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with SaaS industries.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
